This thirteen-week support group will help you on your journey from mourning to joy.  If you have experienced the loss of a spouse, family member or friend, you’ve probably found that there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel.

There is a $15.00 fee for the workbook we use in the group.  Space is limited to 10 participants.

Women's Cancer Support Group

Our Women's Cancer Support Group meets every second Sunday of the month at 11:45 a.m., in the Group Meeting Room in the Counseling Center (Enter parking lot from Adams Ave).

Childcare is not provided.

This is an opportunity to join other women who have been newly diagnosed, as well as all stages of diagnosis, treatment, post-treatment and survivors living with side effects.  Our goal is to connect women and form friendships that continue throughout your journey.  Sharing is optional, but everything is confidential.  We do not give medical advice, but we do pray for and support one another.

If you are interested, please contact Lori Stouffer at 562-673-2924 or email at SeedsOfFaithHB@gmail.com.

Prayer Shawl

Prayer Shawl Ministry is a group of women who meet twice each month to use their God given talents to knit and crochet for the glory of Jesus. Through the work of our hands we show others the love of Christ. We give these shawls to the hurting, the sick, the bereaved, so all are shown compassion from the receiving of one of these handmade shawls.

This ministry connects us to each other, sisters in Christ, to do life together for a higher purpose and it allows us a tangible way to demonstrate the love of Jesus that lives in us.

Our meetings are held in the Green Room of the Main Auditorium the first and third Thursday of the month from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  For more information, interested women may contact: PrayerShawl@fcchb.com

 Communion to Homebound

Each week at First Christian Church we come together and participate in Communion as part of our worship experience.  However, there are those in our Church family who are not able to participate in our weekend services.  FCC would still like to provide the opportunity for our homebound members to participate in this important worship experience.

If you or someone you know is homebound and would like to have communion brought to them, please let us know at Communion@fcchb.comand we are happy to set it up.

Hospital Visitation

One of our family values here at First Christian Church is, “We believe that spiritual growth happens in genuine community.”  One of the ways we experience genuine community is to visit our FCC family when they are in the hospital.  When one of our own is ill, our volunteers will go to encourage them spiritually during this time that can be frightening and uncertain.  We talk with them about their circumstances and ask how we can pray for them to bring the peace of God to this moment.  Most visits are brief out of respect for the healing.

If you are going to be in the hospital or someone you know is currently in the hospital and would like a visit from one of our Visitation Team, please let us know at Visitation@fcchb.comand we will connect with them.
