2024 FCCHB AUDITORIUM DEDICATION

Before the old parquet flooring was thrown away, some key and ever-present members gathered up the pieces for two final uses:

  • The first were small cross magnets that were sold to fundraise for our benevolence fund. All 425 handmade magnets were sold in a single day.

  • The second is the 3’ cross made from 12 tiles and the framed letter that now hangs in the lobby before you enter the auditorium.

Bud and Jeanne Zenk worked throughout that time to create a lasting memory of parquet tiles that experienced a lot throughout the years, just as they had.

Bud and Jeanne, from everyone at FCCHB, thank you dearly for your years of commitment and service to the mission and vision of our church. And, of course, thank you for the hard work you put into finishing this project.

In May of 2024, through the generous donations of its members, FCCHB was able to remodel the auditorium flooring and chairs. The project took two months to complete, and the newly renovated auditorium hosted its first Sunday gathering on June 16, 2024.

Below, you can watch the remodel from start to finish, as well as read the words from Jeanne, imagining and describing what the life of those parquet tiles was like.
