This series is all about allowing God’s Word to reshape our hearts, homes, and communities. What makes this journey particularly impactful is that we’ll take it together as a church family! Every age and ministry, from FCC Kids to FCC Men, FCC Women, and all ages in between, has the chance to participate in a weekly teaching time and group. My hope and prayer for this series isn’t simply that we’ll get into God’s word, but that it will get into us, transforming us to look more like Jesus. ONE CHURCH. ONE JOURNEY. BEYOND SUNDAY MORNING.

The New Testament Challenge is for the entire church family, centered on the same scripture. From Sunday teachings to age-appropriate, midweek experiences for adults, students, and kids.

For adults, you’ll be able to join a Going Deeper group, which are short-term groups created specifically for the New Testament Challenge. Each gathering includes a brief introduction or devotion followed by guided conversation. You can share your thoughts, ask questions, or simply listen as you become more comfortable. You don’t need previous small-group or Bible-study experience. Just bring your New Testament Challenge Book and come ready to grow. There are a variety of Going Deeper groups so click the button below to find the right fit (Wednesday nights, Thursday mornings, or Thursday nights). Our ongoing FCC Men Monday nights and FCC Women Tuesday nights are also participating, but there is no need to register.

For FCC Kids & Students participating on Wednesday nights can expect:

  • Engaging Bible teaching

  • Worship, games, and activities

  • Small-group discussion

  • Creative, hands-on experiences

THURSDAY MORNINGS OR EVENINGS | September 10th–November 5th at 9:30 a.m. or at 6:30 p.m.

Please note: Children’s programming is available on Wednesday evenings only, and Thursday groups are for FCC Women only.

  • Going Deeper Groups are 9-week short-term groups that follow along with our church-wide New Testament Challenge. Each week, you'll talk about Sunday's message, discuss the week's Bible readings, and explore practical ways to apply what you're learning to everyday life.

  • We encourage you to attend as many weeks as possible. Each meeting builds on the last, and coming consistently helps you get to know your group and get the most out of the experience. If you need to miss a week, that's okay—just come back the following week.

  • Some groups will end after the New Testament Challenge, while others choose to keep meeting. Many ongoing community groups at FCCHB began as short-term groups just like this. If your group enjoys meeting together, you may decide to continue.

  • Absolutely! Many people joining a Going Deeper Group are trying a short-term group for the first time. You don't need any previous experience, so just come ready to listen, learn, and join the conversation.

  • Each weekly meeting includes a short introduction, a discussion about Sunday's message and the weekly Bible readings, and a guided conversation within the group. You'll have opportunities to share your thoughts, ask questions, or simply listen.

  • The only preparation is reading the weekly passages in your New Testament Challenge Participant Guide and bringing it with you. Don't worry if you haven't finished all the reading, as you're still welcome to come.

  • Groups will be 8 people max, creating a comfortable setting where everyone has a chance to participate.

  • If space is still available, we'll do our best to find you a group. Since space is limited, registering before the first meeting is the best way to reserve your spot.
