I want to join a community group

Get connected to a group of people that you can grow spiritually with and experience life together.

A Community Group is a gathering of adults who share life together. Community Groups are most impactful when they’re Gospel-Centered; they practice the spiritual rhythms of reading scripture & prayer.

Consider how you might intentionally make time in your schedule to meet with a Community Group weekly, twice a month, or once a month.

FAQS for leaders & participants

What makes a Community Group successful?

Consistency is key. If you and the other group members are willing to show up consistently, participate in conversation, and be authentic, your experience in a Community Group will be fulfilling.

What exactly does a Community Group study?

It’s up to you! Community Group members, or sometimes the group leaders, decide on their own study material. It could be any number of things — we’ve listed a few ideas in the resources above. The most important thing is to keep it Gospel-centered by incorporating reading Scripture & prayer together.

What else do Community Groups do together?

Discuss life and support each other through the up’s & down’s. We encourage Community Groups to gather socially, serve in the community together, and be intentional with each other outside the weekly meeting time. Hopefully, throughout this experience, you will not only grow spiritually, but also develop some great friendships!

How long does a Community Group last?

As long as you want. There is no specific amount of time a group must meet. How long your group continues to meet is up to the group members and group leader. At minimum, we’d encourage a group to meet during the length of an FCCHB Sunday Teaching Series (usually about 6-12 weeks).

How deep do you want to get with your Community Group?

The deeper, the better. Healthy Community Groups are groups that provide the vulnerability, safety, and accountability we all need to grow relationally and spiritually. The more open and honest you are with your group, the more you’ll get out of it.
